Getting started

Download the organiser app for Mac and install the AttendWell iPad app, built from the source.
In the organiser app, create a workshop and paste or import the participant list.
Choose Start check-in and wait for the connection to open.
On the iPad, scan the QR code shown in the organiser app. If you cannot scan it, type the address and the one-time code shown beside it.
Participants tap their name and confirm.

The iPad app has a Try a demo option on its first screen. It shows the check-in screens with made-up names and needs no organiser app.

The QR code takes a while to appear. Opening the connection can take up to a minute. Wait for it.
Stay on the workshop where check-in is running. Keep the organiser app open on that workshop while participants check in.
The iPad stopped reaching the computer. The address changes each time check-in starts. After you restart check-in, choose Pair again in the organiser app and pair the iPad once more.
The connection never opens. Some venue networks block it. Try another network, such as a phone hotspot, for the computer.
The connection dropped during check-in. Check-ins made while the connection is down stay on the iPad and are sent when it returns.

The Mac app is signed and notarised and opens like any other downloaded app.
